A campaign, Mexico, aliens and controversy.
Thing is though, it’s not that Mexico. And it’s not those aliens. And it’s an ad campaign.
Call off the political commentators.

Close encounters with New Mexico

I have no idea why this is playing in Minneapolis, unless there is some demographic statistic showing Minnesotans really love New Mexico. It appears they're playing on the Roswell/UFO/Alien connection. Hey, there's gotta be a reason all the aliens think it's the best place in the universe, right? However, the spot fails to make a clever connection, instead relying on the intelligence of the viewer. (Maybe Minnesotans get it?) Otherwise, pretty clever.

Close encounters with New Mexico

So..why did YouTube pull the video for Terms of Use Violation?

Close encounters with New Mexico

I get the space alien bit, however it's pretty poor quality...it certainly doesn't make me want to visit.

Close encounters with New Mexico

perhaps MN and SD are the only places ranking below NM in places "to be right now"?

Close encounters with New Mexico

I saw these ads in AZ, and thought they were pretty funny.

Close encounters with New Mexico

In truth, NM is not all that bad a place! Surprised? I guessed as much... I was brought here by the Military and did not know what to expect. After being here 3 years it's the kind of place that grows on you and if willing to travel a bit, you'll never see the same thing 2 weekends in a row. It's got beautiful mountains, desert country (if that's your thing), white sands, ABQ is a great city, people across the state are kind and friendly. Just a few positives, not to mention the history. It's got loads of it! If you've never been here, give it a chance if your close. You never know, you very well may enjoy it!
