Back in the 1990s, Sir Mix-A-Lot made a lot of women with a little extra bootie into lifelong fans with his instant classic “Baby Got Back.” Before that, Van Halen helped cement its ’80s-era big hair/bad boy image with the classic “Hot For Teacher.”

Baby Got Burgers?

The "flat buns" spot is inappropriate for a "family" fast food chain. People may be talking about it, but we sure aren't going to be purchasing. Some may say "any press is better than no press at all", but I beg to differ. This one is truly crass. Maybe Carls Jr needs a new ad agency - one that doesn't hire adolescent boys to approve ads.

Baby Got Burgers?

stupid commercials such as Carl's Jr. doesn't make me want to eat there. You know you are correct sex isn't going to sell Tampons I guess, but it sure does help alot of other products in America. After I read that line I knew it was written by a woman. Because men do know that sex doesn't sell everything but if you want to get the attention of testosterone filled young men the best way is through sex. Which most women find out and use to their benefit. Wake up and get use to the FACT that men are sex driven Humans. And there is nothing wrong with it.....
Baby Got Burgers?

Hardees also claims that their meet is 100% angus which is also a lie but, there are people out there that are going to buy in to that. People need to know the truth that if you have a small portion of angus...just enough to pass the boards approval you can call it 100% angus which is a complete farce. The sad thing is that the other cattle boards don't have as much money as they angus board to take it to court and fight false advertising...I think this topic is much more important than who you have in commercials or what they are about. You need to look at the true content of the commercial and realize the lies behind them.

Baby Got Burgers?

What kind of 3rd rate company is Carl's Jr anyway? The one thing I find intelligent about Carl's Jr ads is the fact that the stupid part gets your attention (like a car wreck), then the main selling point is that they show the advertised food item large, nearly full screen. If an ad spot is going to get me to try their food, guess what? Seeing the food is what will get me. People kicking trees and screaming a catch phrase? I personally don't like the Ad, but recognize that Carls Jr. is not trying to promote to women. That is one of the reasons they removed salad bars from their restaurants years ago. The target audience is primarily men. Now it seems that it's targeting the up and comming generation of pop culture. At the end of the day, it all comes down to increasing the bottom line of a company.

Baby Got Burgers?

Great ad.

If you know where I can buy a neon blackboard like that, let me know.

Keep up the good work, Carl's.
And I DO mean "keep it UP."

:)

Baby Got Burgers?

I think the ad is funny. What a shame that they cannot come up with advertising that bring in new customers without offending the ones they already have. Obviously most of the people responding to this article (and additionally the writer) haven't clued in on the creativity.
If you grew up in the late 80's through today you can clearly see the great take on any particular Beastie Boy's video. On top of that the lyrics for the song were more thought out than normal for most commercials ("In anatomy class, you got a butt-minus!") and the nod to the old Van Halen video "Hot for Teacher" is there too!
People need to get some humor back in their lives!!!
