Actually, I think this ad will be very effective. Parents of Gen Y teens did not grow up with the internet, and Boomer and Gen X dads (I'm one of them) hid porn mags, so this ad will resonate with them - and THEY are the ad's targets! Personally, as I am a teen (just 19), I loved this commercial. It's witty and gets the point across... Besides, parents should be more respecting and trusting of their children's space... This was such a funny ad. What parent doesn't go into their child's room and look for things when they're not there? Maybe yours, but mine used to do this to my brother.

There was no porn mags under the bed or anything like that. With all the software used to track internet web sites, kids would probably by porn mags as they're less trackable unless you look for them.

As a parent, I'd have to say that I would look for signs of what my kid was into, but not under the bed. I wouldn't want to know what kind of porno was under there. There's no need for me to make my kid feel more embarassed about sex.
