This is an ad, not a documentary on the mating habits of today's youth. If you think this commercial is bad you should see the series MadMen on AMC. Since they no longer make a single pair of jeans in the USA but still play on the "American Original" theme I think I'll pass on their products. If I'm going to buy imported pants I'll get some at Costco for $12 that are better made than current Levi's. If I want really good quality jeans I'll buy from allamericanclothing.com. What we are really telling the youth is that it is completly safe to take your clothes off. This is why we have teens taking their clothes off and sending it to "friends" over the net. What happened to the good old days of modesty, mystery, innocence? It truly makes me sad to think about how many kids are treating such private matters like they are nothing. Parents need to really educate their children here. We must do a much better job at explaining the dangers of giving yourself to complete strangers! Most teens today don't understand the emotional side that comes from being physical active so young. Many of the youth today are doing whatever and whom ever they want. Is this really healthly? Come on Levi's you can still sell jeans without hurting our youth! I think this ad is going to hurt Levi's in the long run. I for one will not be buying anything from them. What works for some won't for others- as anyone in sales knows, you have to cater your pitch to your customer, and sometimes that's hit or miss. The author of this review, thought it was a hit.

As for whether it is good for kids - it probably isn't. But for everyone that's worried about little Johnny growing up to be overly promiscuous - do everyone a favor - RAISE YOUR KID YOURSELF. Stop blaming 30 second commercials for the unexpected bout with herpes. We, as a society, need to stop blaming everything that may be undesireable on silly ads and fake tv shows and movies - its entertainment, and this ad uses entertainment to sell. Not everyone has the same sense of entertainment and humor (exhibit A: Dennis Miller. Exhibit B: Chris Farley - both comic geniuses).

Stop blaming others, make your own choices, raise your kids to the best of your abilities, and if you don't like Levis, don't buy them. Why all the fuss?

Just some pointless perspectives from a random 25 year old guy. Who doesn't do random hookups at bars, is getting married to his girlfriend of 6 years, and finds NOTHING wrong with the ad... and nothing incredibly special about it, either.

Levi’s and those little white lies

This ad is very irresponsible of Levis. Uplifting?! what in the world was your upbringing? I viewed this commercial for the first time in the movie theatre this past weekend. There were astonished outcries from a large percentage of the crowd at the end of the ad and they were not cheers of approval. Some of the shocked remarks even came from college kids in the crowd, Manhattan, KS /K-State University.
This ad promotes irresponsible sex in a blatant manner. My son is now in college and as a mother of such, watching this ad I was infuriated. As parents we try very hard these days to educate our children about safe and responsible sex and hopefully abstaining, although not likely. Levis just kicked us all in the you know what with this ad. They and others who use sex to sell are working against those of us trying to steer kids back into believing that actions like this just aren't right. I never ad to blogs or visit chat rooms, but this commercial was just too much. I was angry during the entire movie and swore I would do something as soon as possible to make my opinion known. This won't be the only place my comments will be seen.

Levi’s and those little white lies

Honestly, has no one here ever been to Europe? Yes you can explain what's right and wrong, but the more they're bombarded with it, the harder that gets. And let's think about it, why should I have to even explain what's right and wrong anyways? If you don't like some content or whatever on a channel, change it. censoring should be up to the individual person. if you dont want your kids to learn about life until they are older, then don't let them watch the TV channels that have that on it. it is up to you what you let into your home or not. not up to the people who provide the service to you. the world is full of choices... the simple solution is to limit things on your end... not the other persons.

Levi’s and those little white lies

All I can say after watching this garbage is that if I want to watch a porno movie I have the option of renting one. My three teens and I were watching a movie and saw this tragic loss of all human morals come on and our jaws dropped. Breaking and entering and casual drunk sex to advertise a pair of jeans? If ever Levi wanted a way to stop people from buying their jeans this would be it.

Levi’s and those little white lies

So, it's a jeans commercial, huh?

Take away the jeans part and what do ya have?

It's sex and no one has a right to demand that they want sex in commercials...but people who are trying to keep this world from imploding do have a right to NOT see the sex...

Levi’s and those little white lies

Sure this commercial draws off of sex to sell and whatnot, and I don't agree with it (just like american apparel's ads - considerably worse) but Levi's has always incorporated sex through their ads. You can youtube it and find tons. The only difference is that most of those commercials aren't shown in the U.S.. Surprising ad- maybe, surprising it's from Levi's - no.

Levi’s and those little white lies

Offended or not offended, Levi Stauss could care less. The advertisemnt has doen it's job. It has people taking about Levi 501's. That my friends is what avterising is all about.

Levi’s and those little white lies

This ad is vulgar and grossly overstating a fact that sex is the all and all in life, when life is filled with so many and much greater things, that are less preverted then these fictional realities of sex with a stranger.
